TWO WEEK’S
WORK (Feb. 17-23 2008)
FIRST WEEK (18th through 23rd ) This week we sent more than 2000 Bibles to Guatemala. In the year 2007 more than 5000 Bibles were sent to this precious country. Missionaries Stephen Ricker and Carlos Donate are our main distributors in Guatemala. This week we have sent Bibles to Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, Ecuador (for the first time), Juarez, Chihuahua Mexico, Rio Bravo, Florida and Pennsylvania. This week we have distributed 4000 booklets of “The trail of blood” In Spanish and 4000 booklets of “Baptist detective’s” In Spanish. GREAT
POSSIBILITIES!
This week we sent a PDF document of the whole Bible to Guatemala; there is a possibility they will print the whole Bible there. This week we sent a PDF document of the whole Bible to Argentina; There is a possibility they will print the whole Bible there. This week we sent a PDF document of J&R to a printing press in South Carolina; they are going to print 100,000 John and Romans with the plan of salvation. CUBA
This week I got a phone call from Bro. Cliff Taylor missionary to several countries including CUBA. He tells me that there is the possibility that the government of Cuba will legally let him bring in a container of Bibles. For now it is just a possibility but help us pray that God will bring it to pass and that He will provide the finances. Victory Baptist Press will be ready to print them pretty soon. This week we have seen several souls come to Christ, in prison, in the hospitals and in the churches. SECOND
WEEK (From the 25th through the 29th)
This week we have sent several boxes of Bibles to Guanajuato, Jalisco, Mexico, Milwaukee, Florida, Forth Worth, Michigan, Bolivia and Perú. Please pray that God will the finances needed to print the Parallel (KJB&RVG) We already have $10,000; we need $30,000 more for the down payment. To God be the Glory! Thanks for your prayers. Dr. Humberto Gómez MY OPINION ABOUT OUR CRITICS By Dr. Humberto GomezMany have asked me, why don’t you respond to your critics?
“The clash of ideas, is the sound of liberty”
1. Our critics have a right to express their opinions.
I may be 100% in disagreement with all they say or write; yet I would give my life to defend the right they have to express their ideas and their opposition to our work. Even if they exceed the lines of decorum, it is far better to let them speak up, than to try to silence them. I am a firm believer in the freedom of speech.
2. Our critics have been a great blessing.
Criticism has forced us to seek perfection. The stronger the criticism, the more it requires of us to do a better job. Criticism is very healthy; it points to our mistakes (which been many). By the grace of God we have been man enough to admit our mistakes and correct them. Often our critics have contributed more than the ones that applaud our work. I recommend for you to read what they have to say, you may learn something.
3. Our critics have been our best promoters.
Many have found out about our Bible by reading the articles that have been posted against us. A very famous evangelist once said: “Bad promotion is better that no promotion” Men of God that have collaborated in this revision did not know about our Revision until they read the criticism posted in the web pages via Internet.
4. Our critics are our brothers in Christ
Some of the ones that criticize us are our brothers in Christ. Some of them are men of God that are better than us, and have a great Christian heritage. We commit sin if we loosely speak evil against them. Some have a wife, children, a mom and a dad, churches and great ministries; we do not have a right to question their character or their motives, just because they disagree with us. Let them alone! Lest haply ye be found even to fight against God.
5. Our critics have their fears and reservations, some of them are justified.
Many have the fear that a “New Bible” will be the cause of division amongst our brethren, and there may be some validity to that claim; I think that’s a valid point and the possibility of that happening is there. But, we can not turn our back to the Truth either. “Buy the truth, and sell it not;” We stand for a Bible free of Critical Text, that calls Heaven, Heaven, and Hell, Hell. We want unity, but not at the expense of Truth. If truth divides, so be it! “We will not sacrifice the truth in the altar of unity”
Make no mistake about it. We will fight and take a stand for the truth, even unto death. But remember… “For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh: (For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strongholds;) Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;” 2Co 10:3-5

Both, saved by the grace of God. Both, fundamental independent Baptists Both, called to the mission-field Both, graduated from the same Bible college. Hyles-Anderson Baptist College Both, missionaries to Spanish-speaking countries Both, soul-winners and church-planters Both, opposed to the RVG revision Both, opposed to Bro. Gomez
A Different School [of thought]:
Mike Lemma, a staunch defender of the RV 1960 Carlos Donate, a staunch opponent of the RV 1960
The Same School [of thought]:
Both, ended up intensely participating in the revision of the Holy Scriptures. Revision of the Antigua 1909 RVG.
Both love and preach the RVG. Both are friends of Bro. Gomez.
Past grievances can be forgotten; God can give us the grace of reconciliation. We can forgive, and we must forgive. The work of God should be bigger than our egos.
Mar 11:25 And when ye stand praying, forgive, if ye have ought against any: that your Father also which is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses.
